Join us for a tour of the Bay Bridge! The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is made up of two bridge segments: a skyway structure/single anchored suspension bridge between Oakland and Yerba Buena Island, and a suspension span from the island to San Francisco. We will view the bridge from different angles from Yerba Buena Island and on the east span. The tour will start in the east bay and last about three hours. Participants must be able to walk and climb vertical ladder rungs and over barriers.

Our guides will be Ed Thometz, Qudsia Wahab and David Chung of Caltrans. Ed and David are Senior Bridge Engineers and Qudsia is an engineer in Investigations with Caltrans. The team together has decades of experience with Caltrans, and we are honored to have them lead this tour.

We will be meeting in the morning in the east bay. A debrief and lunch will be at the Plank at Jack London Square around 1:30 after the tour. Attendees will be required to bring their PPE – safety hard hat and vest and non-skid toe covered shoes.

The group will be limited to 15 attendees and $30 per person.  A follow-up email will be sent to attendees for directions and further instructions.
